Pawleys "Island" Lifestyle
It’s the
“Island” kind of life for me and that’s how it will always be! I try to get on here to blog about 2-3 times a week but I find a driving force from the beach that keeps calling my name! Plus it doesn’t help that I have three children that absolutely LOVE to surf. I practically get woken up every morning with my toes getting tickled by my children with them begging me to bring them to the beach to surf. I try to explain to them that the tides aren’t right or there’s too much current but they think that I am just making up excuses not to go. So, yep … they win and we get there, unload EVERYTHING only to find out that it’s low tide and way too windy. ”Mom, I’m cold, can we go back home?” they say. All I can do is tell them “I told you so”, which is a child’s worst phrase that they dread hearing. There are other things that they can do while they are there so we take walks and/or jogs to the pier and back which helps break up our days.
Living in
Pawleys Island is truly a blessing because all you have to do is get out of bed to enjoy the salt life here. I practically live in my PJ’s and bathing suits along with a pair of flip flops. It certainly cuts down on laundry around here! No one really cares what you look like while you’re fishing, kayaking, surfing, swimming, boating, running, paddleboarding, etc. It’s all about living the dream “the island life”. In the evenings, it’s nice to get a little dressed up and go catch happy hour at some of our local restaurants especially the ones off of the beaches. Later in the evenings, we have so much entertainment that you could practically stay out until 2:00 a.m. (unfortunately not for this mom
). Well, I believe you get the drift .. wake up, throw on a suit and a pair flip flops and enjoy God’s beautiful creation in
Pawleys Island.
